I often leave my phone at home when I go to the gym or for a walk - the watch is great at tracking all data while it's offline, including GPS of course, and then syncing with the iPhone when I get home. It also helps that Apple Pay works while being offline. Ifyou don't absolutely need the cellular connectivity go for the non cellular version. Battery life better on non cell I think.
